Susanne Biancamano has been a leader in the Montessori community for over 15 years. She has fostered the growth of hundreds of students as both a teacher, mentor and director in Montessori schools. Susanne, better known as Ms.Sue, became the full time Director of the Unitarian Montessori School in 2013, acting as a catalyst for progress and growth in both students as well as staff. She has led multiple projects under the title of director, during which never wavered from the Montessori philosophy she so ardently believes in. These projects included a playground renovation, the installment of the music program, the Spanish language curriculum as well the newest curriculum in the mindfulness program. Ms. Sue began her career in Montessori in 2000, starting as lead teacher at the Christopher Academy in Scotch Plains, NJ. It was here, Susanne received her initial training to become the passionate advocate for Montessori she is today. Susanne received her certification from the National Center for Montessori in 2002, and subsequently continued her career at the Raritan Valley Montessori School in Bridgewater. Ms. Sue has been an advocate for advancing early education for children on an international scale. She has travelled globally to raise awareness about the importance of Montessori education. Including Rwanda, Africa where she actively participated in raising funds to build the Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village, a school for child survivors of the 1994 Genocide. She has been involved in a number of charitable organizations including Hospice, The New Jersey Blood Center, The Compassionate Friends and Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

In addition to her Montessori Certification, Ms. Sue studied Business and Marketing at St. Peter’s University and Social Work at the Rutgers University Graduate School of Social Work. Ms. Sue lives in Hillsborough with her husband, her three children (all previous Montessori students), her dog Shadow and 2 cats Rory and Remey. Outside of the classroom Ms. Sue is an avid bike rider, swimmer, hiker and lover of nature. She hopes to continue to build a world in which the whole child is at the forefront of education.
